Urban Gardening
Sow Metro is a garden makeover reality show specifically about urban gardens. Urban agriculture has many positive benefits to the community and individuals:
- Veg gardens offer a convenient and cost effective way to access fresh food.
- Gardens re-kindle a connection to the natural world.
- Public gardens can create educational and business opportunities.
- They give opportunities for the community to connect and share leisure time.
- Greening the environment lowers carbon emissions and increases CO2.
But this is about not about theory, this series is about fun! It’s about makeovers, families and of course it’s about gardening. A presenter shows up at a different garden each week and transforms them from tired, junk-filled patches of land
into green sanctuaries. Each episode starts with the family getting the surprise that they have been selected. Then we follow the presenter / horticulturalist as they come up with a design and a plan, present it to the family and start the makeover. We follow the garden through the transformation, ending the episode with a big reveal.
