TWO SEAS TV IS…
Helen Atty BA Hons
After completing an honours degree in Film Theory at Middlesex University in 1996 I moved back to the Kingdom of Bahrain where I grew up. Living on a desert island gave me an appreciation for different cultures, landscapes and the ocean. Bahrain means ‘two seas’ in Arabic. I soon found my first film job working for a South African producer which led me to plan an adventure to Cape Town in 1998. The rest as they say is history. Twenty-five years and hundreds of productions later I am still as passionate about my adopted country as the day I arrived.
In 2007 I started Two Seas TV to facilitate international productions shooting in SA. Since then I have been privileged to work on a wide variety of TV productions from an award winning documentary called Overland about the rehabilitation of eagles to the BBC series Africa Rising about South African art and culture. My interests are in history, architecture, sustainability and gardening but mostly I love TV production…the profound stories, fascinating people and the sense of shared achievement when wrap is called and you know the footage is special.
